Hughes-Fowler ‘Crab’ 2-6-0 No. 42841 travelling towards Southport between Gathurst and Appley Bridge on 11 November 1961. The Fleetwood allocated engine is crossing the Leeds and Liverpool Canal which ran parallel with the River Douglas at this point.
