82003 is waiting to leave for Barmouth, with the station's main platform on the left. Formerly designated as Barmouth Junction this station was renamed Morfa Mawddach by British Railways in June 1960. The track layout formed a triangle where light engines were able to turn without having to run up to Barmouth and its turntable, thereby saving time and coal.
