Metropolitan Railway E class 0-4-4T No L44 (formerly Met No 1) passes Farringdon with the Southern Counties Touring Society 'Metropolitan' rail tour from Stanmore to New Cross Gate on 1st October 1961. The train was followed one block behind by Bo-Bo electric No 16 Oliver Goldsmith which brought the train back from New Cross Gate.
