LNER 9165 1947 Stobcross MPD

LNER 9165 1947 Stobcross MPD

Ex-North British Railway Reid 'A' (LNER 'N15') class 0-6-2 Tank No. 9165. Built by NBL of Glasgow in May 1913 as NBR No. 224 and withdrawn in May 1960 a BR No. 69165.

Seldom photographed, the two road Stobcross MPD was one of the lesser known ex-North British Railway sheds in the suburbs of Glasgow. It opened in 1874 and was closed by BR in 1950.
Seen in 1947, 9165 has already had 'LNER' painted over in anticipation of receiving its new BR livery. A 'J36' 0-6-0 No. 5270 is also seen on shed.
