This view , taken from the new road briddge here at Saltash is interesting in that it portrays the scene at the very beginning of the Royal Naval Dockyard at Devonport , the yard itself being out of shot on the left.
Of interest, however, are the three Naval frigates or destroyers all now decommissioned from service and awaiting sale to foreign navies or a fate at a breaker's yard.
There is also a Royal Fleet Auxiliary replenishment tanker with them, and above the two warships on the left, hidden in the trees at Torpoint, are massive tanks holding fuel for the Naval warships.
