Class 50s on the ECML were mainly running in ex Doncaster works, but this is not the test train. Peter Hall reports that on 20/08/79 50024 went light loco Doncaster to Kings Cross and then worked 18.05 Kings Cross to York throughout. The following day it worked home on the 09.50 Edinburgh to Plymouth forward from York.
