67305 1956-04-29 Darlington Works

Ex-North Eastern Railway, Worsdell 'O' (LNER 'G5') class 0-4-4 Tank No, 67305. Built at Darlington in November 1897 as NER No. 1755 and withdrawn in December 1958, Push-pull fitted 67305 is in sparkling ex-works condition at Darlington in April 1956. From 1894 to 1901 no less than a hundred and ten 'G5s' were built, every one surviving into BR ownership, the last withdrawal was in 1958. This is not the end of their story because the 'Class G5 Locomotive Company' is well underway with building a brand new one at (appropriately) Shildon. We can't wait...!
