58182 1963-04-06 Desford Junction
On the Leicester West Bridge to Swannington daily goods. It had already passed through the Glenfield tunnel and was heading towards Coalville on this Saturday freight. On weekdays it would convey coal empties from the large coal depot adjacent to the canal as well as these empty oil tanks. Another special trip, this time from London via the Great Central line from Marylebone to Leicester Central and then Coalville although details of how this last leg of the journey was accomplished are now lost. Probably by bus as the bus station was close to Central Station.
