5081 1956 Oxford
A lovely image of exquiste sharpness shows ‘Castle’ No 5081 ‘Lockheed Hudson’ standing at the north end of Oxford station with a Paddington-Worcester train in the mid 1950s. The fireman is watching out for the green flag from the Guard so that the driver can be alerted to getting the train on the move. This scene was enacted countless times at stations over the years as all GW locomotives were right hand drive.
