Peter Kerslake says "Exeter St.David's appears deserted in this 1950's view with Old Oak Common's 7030 "Cranbrook Castle" at the head of a Paddington bound working which it will have taken on at Plymouth's North Road station, possibly with additional coaches at the rear from the Torquay line added at Newton Abbot. 7030 had been a London engine based at Old Oak from new in June of 1950 until withdrawal in February of 1963."
