7013 1962-06-02 Oxford

7013 " Bristol Castle " , the original 4082 " Windsor Castle " , looks to be fresh from overhaul in this view and has been well turned out as was the custom at her home shed of Worcester for this Top Link duty , the " Cathedrals Express " .
This service ran from September of 1957 , the locomotive rostered for the duties bearing a fine headboard as seen here , finished in blue with a red and gold Bishop's mitre at its top ,its lettering being in classic mediaeval style .
The unsightly Davies and Metcalfe oil reservoir on the smokebox does little to improve the look of 7013 , and this named service ran until June of 1965 , running between Paddington and Hereford , Worcester and Oxford in both directions daily
