7007 1960c London Paddington

The end of platforms eight and nine, a favourite vantage point from which to see everything leaving and arriving here at Paddington has just a solitary "spotter" on this day, most unusually as it was normally full to capacity, especially on weekends, and the little lad appears to be in school uniform as 7007, "Great Western", still allocated to Worcester, runs in with an express undoubtably from Hereford and Worcester.
Renamed "Great Western" in January, 1948 from its original "Ogmore Castle", 7007 was the last "Castle" to be built by the GWR prior to Nationalisation in 1948, hence the change of name, and it bore the GWR Coat of Arms beneath the nameplate on each side.
7007 spent thirteen years at Worcester, being withdrawn from that shed in February 1963.
