Earning its keep on freight. Probably around the Worcester or Gloucester area.

Peter Kerslake says "Sadly I cannot identify this location , but the date must be 1965 rather than 1966 as neg indicated as 7029 was officially withdrawn from service from Gloucester Horton Road Depot on the 31st December 1965, having already been secured for preservation prior to her move to Tyseley for restoration following withdrawal .
There have been reports that 7029 did , in fact , unofficially work a freight or two within the Birmingham area following her move to Tyseley , but this photograph , however , is , I am sure , from her last months in service during late 1965 and is probably not too far away from Gloucester .
Working a large number of Enthusiasts' Specials during 1964 and 1965 , in addition to appearing on local passenger and freight services in and around Gloucester by the end of 1965 , " Clun Castle " was showing signs of her recent exploits , with her paintwork and mechanical condition having deteriorated , and over the 1965 Christmas period I recall seeing her relegated to the role of station pilot at Gloucester 's Eastgate and Central stations .
In this view 7029's numbeplates and nameplates have all been removed."

Paul Warner says "Have you considered that this could be Pangbourne? The location could on the east of the station at the London side of the Whitchurch Road underbridge. Clues - the telegraph run was on both sides of the line, the aws ramp that was for the distant signal for the intermediate signals at Purley (Reading Panel took over control of the line to Dicot May 65). Other photos of this area can be viewed on flickr by Nashphoto."
