5091 1961c Newport

On a rake of GWR coaches. Looks like there is a storm brewing. Carrying an 88A Canton shed plate and it was only allocated there for exactly one year from September 1961.

Peter Kerslake adds " What a splendid picture with the sun well behind our fortunate cameraman and with 5091 "Cleeve Abbey" here at Newport.
Allocated to 84K, which was Chester, in the mid 'fifties this engine was to move down to Exeter shed in July of 1957 before soon being reallocated to Carmarthen in September of 1957, and thereafter to Landore, Cardiff Canton and Cardiff East Dock when Canton closed to steam in August of 1962.
Further reallocations took 5091 to Worcester and Tyseley in the mid 'sixties, the engine being withdrawn in October of 1964."
