5068 1950s Bristol Stapleton Road
Peter Kerslake says "A very wet Bristol Stapleton Road, an important station north of the line from central Bristol towards Filton Junction where the South Wales line continues onwards and away from the line eastwards towards Swindon and Paddington.
Stapleton Road in its heyday was well equipped with substantial canopies seen here together with a fine fully covered footbridge, a parcels office and waiting and toilet facilities for its many customers, and this view is looking down towards Bristol and the next station on the line at Lawrence Hill with the footbridge behind the cameraman.
The line northwards from here is at the start of Ashley Hill bank, a climb of one in seventy five for the three mles to Filton Junction.
5068 "Beverston Castle", a Swindon based engine in the mid fifties is heading an "All Statuions" stopping service northwards, probably from Temple Meads back home to Swindon via the Badminton line from Filton Junction."
