From Landore 87E
It's been a wet day at Swindon , but Landore's " Devizes Castle " looks splendid here , fresh from Works and in new colours before " Running In " on some local services prior to returning back home to Wales.
Coming up into daylight from the tunnel leading to the Works it was usual for visiting enthusiasts to find an ex Works engine or two waiting at this location , a taste of more thrills to come !
7002 would have been well maintained at her home shed , which had a reputation for turning out its " Castles " in fine condition on the fast West Wales to Paddington express workings at this time.
They never came down to the Westcountry , however !
