With the 0755 (SX) Penzance - SwanseaFate was to allow 7034 to remain as one of the last four " Castles " in service as late as June , 1965 when it was withdrawn in company with 5042 and 7022 leaving only 7029 , " Clun Castle " to carry the flag for the remainder of that year. 7034 was withdrawn after a " failure " during the weekend of 19th/20th. June , 1965 , but " failures " were frequently contrived at that unhappy time as a convenient way of taking an engine off the road , and 7034 was left at Gloucester Horton Road before heading down to the breakers' yards .
