Peter Kerslake says " I took this one on a very busy Whit Saturday, 19th. May, 1956 and all main line trains that day carried proper (not chalked) Reporting Numbers. 5041 had been a Newton Abbot engine but went to Landore just prior to my shot and was returnung to its old grounds on this day. The picture has everything, a clean engine, speed limit sign, signals, beach, the sea sigtnal box and tunnel.......what more could a photographer want?"
