This is an attractive shot of Old Oak Common's 7027 , " Thornbury Castle " being prepared to leave Paddington on a down express with her fireman having put his lamps in the right position and now sorting out something else , but I 'm not sure what he's doing unless he's got a Headboard for the top lamp bracket . This engine has fortunately survived into preservation , being purchased from Barry in 1972 following withdrawal in 1963, and is now at Tyseley .
