5096 1956-05-19 Teignmouth
5096 , " Bridgewater Castle " heads the 7.30.a.m. from Paddington to the West of England along the sea wall at Teignmouth on Whit. Saturday, 19th. May , 1956 , and is in sparkling condition. I recall that this was a very busy day , with every main line express carrying a Reporting Number , although 5096 appears to have be at the back of the queue when it came to her battered " 107 " which has certainly seen better days !. This train ran the " long way round " via Bristol Temple Meads so, as a Bristol Bath Road engine , she may have come on to this working there . It's unusually quiet on the sea wall for a Bank Holiday weekend
