A pair of " Castles " double heading at Paddington so no wonder that the photographer has captured this rare event on film. Both ex Works 5053 , "Earl Cairns" and 5041 , "Tiverton Castle" , had been Newton Abbot engines before the year shown for this view, but 5041 went to Landore in South Wales in 1956. Where this train is bound for we cannot tell because the Reporting Number frame, although nicely in position on 5053 is unfortunately empty!
