5015 1950s Small Heath & Sparkbrook

5015 1950s Small Heath & Sparkbrook

A ‘Castle’, probably No.5015 Kingswear Castle from Stafford Road shed, in the mid-1950s passing northwards through Small Heath & Sparkbrook on ‘The Cornishman’, which ran from Penzance to Wolverhampton. The two island platforms resulted from the quadrupling of the line in 1912/3; the one on the left served the Up and Down main lines and the one on the right the Relief lines with the Down and Up Goods on the extreme right of the picture.
