‘Castle’ No.5012 Berry Pomeroy Castle on a down express around 1958 seems to be making very light work of the five mile climb at 1 in 110 of Hatton Bank. It was allocated to Oxford shed from the end of 1952 until withdrawn ten years later. The last digit of the train reporting number ‘965’ appears to have been found at the last minute.
