Another ‘Castle’, No.5085 Evesham Abbey, on the same day with another set of green coaches this time on the ‘1V82’, the 9.25am from Margate to Wolverhampton Low Level where it was due to arrive at 3.51pm. No.5085 was built in July 1939 using the frames from withdrawn Churchward ‘Star’ No.4065, also taking its name. Evesham Abbey had been in store at Bristol St.Phillips Marsh since February 1962 but was reinstated at Reading shed on the 11th of August, presumably to help out with the summer “extras”.
