5072 1956c Teignmouth
5072 , " Hurricane " comes on to the sea wall here at Teignmouth bearing one of those neatly stencilled and chalked Reporting Numbers which only Laira shed could claim credit for on this , a West to North express , the 7.30.a.m. from Penzance to Crewe and Manchester . 5072 would have come on to this duty at Plymouth North Road , relieving the engine from Penzance , and will probably work to Bristol Temple Meads , although she might possibly go through to Shrewsbury . These West to North workings included coaches for Liverpool , the train being split at Crewe , with one even having a through coach for Glasgow , which was detached at Crewe to join the down " Mid Day Scot ", making it the longest through coach working in the Country at that period of time. 5072 was a Laira engine at about this time but went to Stafford Road at Wolverhampton later .
