Peter Kerslake says "Photographed by myself at its home shed, Old Oak Common on 24th April 1955, 5006 Tregenna Castle takes water while a couple of crew chat, one of whom could well be 5006's driver.
5006 was described by driver J.W.Street, in his book "I drove the Cheltenham Flyer" as being "the finest engine I ever had".
On 6th June 1932 5006 brought the Paddington bound "Cheltenham Spa Express" (otherwise known as described above) loaded to 195 tons into the terminus in 56 mins 47 seconds from Cheltenham, thus averaging 81.6 mph, a record never beaten"
