One of eleven " Castles " transferred from Wolverhampton Stafford Road shed to the nearby Midland Region shed at Oxley when the former closed in early September of 1963 , 7012 , " Barry Castle " eventually became one of the last eight of its class to survive at Oxley before being withdrawn in November , 1964.
During their later lives at Oxley those remaining " Castles" were rostered on semi fast workings from Wolverhampton to and from Paddington , in addition to cross country services , the latter duties being particularly at weekends .
7012 was finally condemned from Oxley in November of 1964.
