7004 1956-06-26 Reading

Displaying its 81A Old Oak Common, shedplate 7004 Eastnor Castle has a single stopping passenger lamp in position in ths view and, from its condition, could well be working an all stations local following an overhaul at Swindon despite the neg saying it was Reading East End pilot. Although carrying the modified outside steam pipes, probably just recently fitted at Swindon, 7004 has no mechanical lubricator or double chimney, but she was later to receive such modifications during a later visit to Swindon in February of 1958, prior to her transfer to Worcester Motive Power Depot in 1960. 7004 later ended her days from Reading shed in January of 1964 from where she had been transferred in September of 1963.
