7015 1956-03-18 Bath Spa

7015 1956-03-18 Bath Spa

Bristol Bath Road's Running Foreman has put his shed's 7015, " Carn Brea Castle " on this early morning 8.20.a.m. from Temple Meads to Paddington , due into the Capital at 11:08 a.m. and seen here running into Bath Spa in splendid condition, with even the Reporting Number and locomotive's lamps looking prestine.
This train would have started at 8.00 a.m. from Weston Super Mare , but 7015 would have come on at Temple Meads.
After withdrawal in April of 1963 , 7015 was purchased initially by Coopers' Metals for disposal at their Sharpness yard, but was sold on by that concern , eventually being srapped at Cashmores at Newport .
The Hawksworth flush sided tender looks nice in this splendid shot , with its coal having been neatly trimmed by the fireman before setting off from Bristol .
This working was one frequently covered by the initial Gas Turbine 18000 during its working life, and 7015 will return to Bristol after a spell at Ranelagh Yard , adjacent to Paddington , probably not going on to Old Oak Common
