5005 1958c Bath Spa

5005 'Manorbier Castle', like 'King' 6014, was 'streamlined' by the GWR and as with 6014, still carries the bracket over the lubricator box seen here on the face of the inside valve chest, used for the Reporting Number frame during that time. They both had rounded smokebox door fitments during their respective' streamlined' days and it was not, therefore, possible for these brackets to be fixed in their usual position. This train is the 7.30.a.m. from Paddington to the West of England but running the 'Long Way Round' via Bristol Temple Meads, where 5005 may come off , although it may well work down to Newton Abbot.
