Laira's Running Foreman has put his shed's 4087 ' Cardigan Castle' on the up' Royal Duchy' which I think was the 2.p.m. form Plymouth , and she will run through to Paddington , probably returning home the next day. The large mehanical lubricator reservoir can be seen in this splendid Summer time shot at Teignmouth , attached to the smokebox side , whilst the mechanical lubricator itself is situated ahead of the steam pipe. I suspect that coaches from Kingswear and the Torquay line will have been added at Newton Abbot, as was often the case. Even the oldest'Castles' such as 4087 seen here were still being used on Top Link Workings at this period of time.
