Ex-Great Western Railway Collett '4575' class 2-6-2 Tank No. 5536. Built at Swindon in July 1928 and withdrawn in December 1960.
Conveniently for 'spotters' and enthusiasts, Exeter MPD was opposite the station. 4575 is in the shed yard awaiting its next duties. The original large BR totem is seen to good advantage in this portrait.
