One of the Great Western Railway's smaller constituents was the Midland & South Western Junction Railway. Even though suitably 'Great Westernised' by Swindon, ex-M&SWJR 1335 was a remarkable survivor into the BR era. It is seen here at Yarnton Junction Station in Oxfordshire in August 1952 with the SLS 'Shipston Branch' railtour. This ran from Oxford to Shipston-on-Stour and return. 1335 was built by Dubs & Co. of Glasgow in Jan. 1894 as M&SWJR No.12 and was withdrawn in Sept. 1952.
