Ex-Great Western Railway Collett '57xx' class 0-6-0 Pannier Tank No. 4648. Built at Swindon in March 1943 and withdrawn in September 1964.

The 'spotters' outnumber the passengers as 4648 trundles through Snow Hill Station with a freight in August 1964. The enthusiasts will no doubt be waiting for more exciting fish to be entering their pond! As with most station platforms in this era, there are no abandoned coffee cups or fast food wrappers, no sticky chewing gum unhealthily underfoot. In fact, my rose-tinted glasses are wholly unnecessary!
