Great Western Railway Collett 'Castle' class 4-6-0 No. 5086 'Viscount Horne'. Built at Swindon in December 1937 and withdrawn in November 1958. Note the black-out coverings over the cab side windows.

In a rare wartime photograph, 'Viscount Horne' is making a spirited attack on Hatton Bank in May 1940. Robert Stevenson Horne, 1st Viscount Horne of Slamannan (1871-1940) was Chairman of the GWR from 1934 until his death.
