92230 1965-01-01 Gloucester Central
92230 crosses the bridge above Northgate Street (note the hump in the middle of the train) with a mixed freight. A crew change will take place here at Gloucester Following withdrawal in 1956 of Big Bertha, the Lickey Banker, 9F no.92079 replaced it, and was followed by a number of other types until in January 1964 92230 took over the role, remaining at Bromsgrove in that capcity until July 1964, the last of the 9Fs to perform that role. By the time of my photograph here on 1st January 1965 92230 is back to more normal duties, working down to South Wales and back."
