This fine view is looking towards Saltash on a misty day but with both The Royal Albert rail bridge on the left and the new road bridge on the right having been recorded for posterity . The Warship is , therefore , heading Westwards into Cornwall from Devon and it is clear that the the material in the foreground indicates that this view dates from an early date of the opening of the road bridge , and the park from which the photographer has taken his picture has not yet been cleared and landscaped . Made redundant by the road bridge , the slipway from which the little Saltash vehicle ferry operated is just visible below the main span of the rail bridge.
