Warship' No.D866 Zebra with No.D823 Hermes preparing to depart from Penzance in July 1968 on the 10.15 Cornish Riviera Express to Paddington. The mix of tatty green and maroon liveries is somewhat short of the BR Corporate image for the Western Regions prestige train! Zebra went into Swindon later in the month for an intermediate overhaul, emerging in blue with full yellow ends. Hermes, maroon since May 1966, had only acquired the full yellow ends a couple of months earlier and did not go into blue until September 1969.
