Double-heading the Up Cornish Riviera
Peter Kerslake adds "Double-headed workings of the Warships began in May 1968 which allowed selected Plymouth-London trains loading to eleven coaches to be accelerated. This was short-lived and a year later all except the Cornish Riviera were reduced to a maximum of eight or nine coaches which was within the capabilities of a single Western".
