Smartened up for the Open Day on 18 September 1971. The 1B25 was from the previous Wednesday when it had taken the 13.30 down to Paignton, worked back up to London with the Chard milk and then spent a couple of days at Old Oak being specially cleaned in preparation for the event. Regal treatment for a loco about to be withdrawn in 3 months, although it was one of three Class 42s to get a reprieve over the Summer of 1972. An abortive attempt was made to preserve it by the namesake ITV childrens� programme in October 1972.
