14803 1920s where?

14803 1920s where?

One of the big Pickergill ‘956’ Class three-cylinder 4-6-0s, No 14803 at an unknown shed in the late 1920s. Only four of these engines were built, at St Rollox in the summer of 1921, becoming LMS Nos 14800-3. Beautiful looking locomotives, they were not a success and had very short careers. No 14803 was withdrawn in July 1933, a month short of its 12th birthday! The last survivor was No 14802 withdrawn in January 1935 after just 13 years of service.
