Ex-London & North Western Railway Webb 'Coal Engine' (LMS '2F') class 0-6-0 No. 8101. Built at Crewe in March 1874 as L&NWR No. 1021 and withdrawn in Dec. 1937. A sixty year old locomotive is undergoing what will probably be its final overhaul at Crewe Works in October 1935, it will be withdrawn a couple of years later. Brand new 'Black 5' No. 5199 is on the left and Whale 'G1' 0-8-0 No. 9113 is behind Webb's Victorian gem.
