The loco is probably a failure and awaiting works attention. Baby Deltics weren't native to the GE section but tended to be dumped at Stratford when unserviceable - which wasn't uncommon. If the headcode's anything to go by, D5900's last turn before failing was a King's Cross - Royston, or vice versa, service.
