6019 1961-05-21 Cardiff Canton

King Henry V displays the 88C shed plate used by Canton for three years from September 1960, the code would then revert to 86A and 88C would become Barry.
Peter Kerslake says "As work for the 'Kings' was taken over by diesels, six were transferred from Old Oak Common to Cardiff Canton during September 1960. 6019 was sent there following its last overhaul at Swindon in late June. The Shedmaster and Running Foremen at Canton would have been hard pressed to find suitable work for their newly acquired 'Kings', but they did make a few appearances on the 'Red Dragon' and other Top Link passenger rosters, working up to Paddington from Cardiff in the morning and returning home again later the same day following a "Turn Round" at Ranelagh depot just outside Paddington. By March 1962, however, 6019 was back at Old Oak Common and Canton itself was scheduled for closure to steam in September 1962."
