6005 1961-12-02 Leamington Spa

Peter Kerslake says "King George II" heads through Leamington Spa in this fine view with the driver clearly visible and looking out for the signals ahead on this early morning working from Wolverhampton to Paddington
Allocated to Stafford Road at Wolverhampton for 28 years, 6005 will be turned, watered and attended to by its crew after arrival at Paddington at Ranelagh Yard, just outside Paddington station, before running back home to Wolverhampton on a return working later in the day with sufficient coal for the return duty as its tender clearly indicates in this view!
6005 was withdrawn from a short spell at Old Oak in November 1962."
