6015 1947-08-10 Warwick
The war may have ended but 6015 still displays the run down state which persisted in the immediate post war period, clearly in need of some attention at its home shed of Old Oak Common, but cleaners were in short supply. King Richard III had not been given much attention by Swindon Works apart from Running Repairs in May 1946, and would not be receiving anything but an Intermediate Repair until six months after this photograph.
This image shows the original smoothed casing over the inside valve chest and no smokebox door numberplate has been fitted.
