Allocated to Old Oak at this date following a transfer in June the previous year from Plymouth's Laira Depot, 6012, " King Edward VI " looks to have been cleaned well in readiness for its next call to duty.
Although having received a Heavy Overhaul at Swindon the previous September, a return to Swindon later in the same month of this image saw 6012 having a Light Overhaul, the engine remaining at Old Oak Common until a shortlived transfer to Stafford Road preceded its withdrawal in September 1962.
