6006 1961-04-29 Gerrards Cross

GWR King 4-6-0 No 6006 King George I passes Gerrards Cross with the 4.10pm Paddington-Birkenhead (M20) on 29 April 1961.

Peter Kerslake says "Heavily loaded with the 4:10 p.m. from Paddington to Birkenhead 6006 may just be working home as far as Wolverhampton but possibly through to Shrewsbury.
With the unhappy distinction of being the first 'King' to be condemned in February of 1962 from its Wolverhampton home 6006 had in earlier years seen service housed at Laira and Old Oak Common."
