6006 1960c Hatton Bank

6006 1960c Hatton Bank

Wolverhampton Stafford Road had been the home of 6006, King George I for virtually the whole of its working life from 1928 until its end in 1962, apart from a couple of years in the engine's early years when it was allocated briefly to Laira.
This location Hatton Bank is on the Paddington to Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury main line, with the embankments nicely trimmed back and I only saw and captured 6006 on film at Paddington in the 'fifties as it never ventured down into the far West.
Withdrawn in February 1962 this engine met its end at Swindon some two months later
