6007 1955c Westbury

The Reporting Number shows this to be the early morning 7.15.a.m. from Plymouth to Paddington with Old Oak's 6007, " King William III " in charge here at Westbury.
An Old Oak engine for its life, apart from its last three or four years at Stafford Road, 6007 had the unhappy distinction of being officially withdrawn following its accident at Shrivenham in 1936, but was repaired back into service and returned to Old Oak.
6007 lasted longer than some of its fellow " Kings ", being withdrawn in Septmber 1963 despite having had three repair periods during 1962, but perhaps that's how it lasted that little bit longer !
